HELPFUL QUICK LINKS
SPOTIFY PROMO CARDS
Spotify has a new tool that lets you create custom
assets for your songs, albums, and artist profile that
you can share on social media.
In this era of streaming music and social media, artists
have more ways to connect with fans than ever before.
But more platforms for promotion can mean more work
for the modern artist. You’re not just a singer, rapper,
producer, or band anymore — you're a DIY brand. You’re
more than a musician, you’re also a marketer, creative
director, curator, and even an amateur graphic
designer.
At Spotify for Artists, we want to help make your job(s)
easier when it comes to creating eye-catching
shareable social media assets to help you grow your
audience and celebrate wins like getting playlisted.
YOUTUBE COPYRIGHT STRIKE?
Regarding YouTube! please note if you receive an email
from YouTube about a copyright strike from [Merlin]
Symphonic Distribution, Please do not worry as this is not
an official full on strike but only a basic strike from our
distributors just claiming DivisionBass Digital releases for
stats or they might even add an advertisement on it so you
get a royalty when it gets played.

Thank you.

release rules REGARDING EP’s
for iTunes / Apple Music
Apple Music have changed their rules and have stated
Releases with 1-3 tracks under 30 minutes in length are
considered Singles on iTunes and not EP’s. Officially this is
correct but over the years the “Rule” has changed a little
but Apple are now trying to put things right again. So from
now on releases with 3 tracks under 30 minutes will not be
classed as an EP but as a 3 track single on all stores.

spotify enforcement penalty fees and
how can they affect you?
In an ongoing effort to ensure the integrity of content on
their platforms, many DSPs are updating their review and
education processes related to improper activity,
including Artificial Streaming. The measures being
implemented vary by individual DSP, but primarily are
aimed at disincentivizing artificial streaming, as well as
imposing penalties on the responsible parties. The
intention is to meaningfully deter bad actors that
attempt to divert money from honest, hard-working
artists like you.
Our streaming partners, like Spotify, work diligently to
ensure streams on their platforms are legitimate,
meaning they reflect genuine user listening intent so
that the proper content providers are credited and
compensated for their hard work. If a service finds that
you directly (or indirectly through a third party hired by
you or on your behalf) have boosted play counts through
any automated, deceptive, fraudulent or other invalid
means (digital bots, “click farms”, payment for
placement on playlists, etc.), the service has the right to
remove the streams from play counts and royalties, and
permanently remove your entire catalog, among other
remedies available to DSPs.
If you are in the market for a music promotion service,
make sure to do your research before you hire them.
